Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2025: Everything You Need to Know
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are a unique educational system established by the Government of India to provide quality education to talented children predominantly from rural areas. The admission process for Class VI in JNVs for the December 2025 session will be conducted through a national-level selection test called JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test).
The JNV admission process is completely merit-based and transparent. Every year, approximately 80,000 students get selected for admission to Class VI across more than 600 JNVs in India. The selection test evaluates students' mental ability, arithmetic skills, and language proficiency. The exam is conducted in the candidate's mother tongue/regional language to ensure no disadvantage to rural students.
For the December 2025 admission cycle, the registration process is expected to begin in September 2025. The selection test will likely be conducted in December 2025 across all districts in India. Parents and students should regularly check the official Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti website for updates and notifications.
JNVs provide an excellent opportunity for talented students from economically weaker sections to receive quality education completely free of cost. The residential schools offer state-of-the-art facilities, well-equipped laboratories, extensive sports infrastructure, and a nurturing environment for holistic development.
